Professional Tour guide school- PROTS was established in 1995 by a Professional Safari Guide, Vedasto Izoba, who has been professionally guiding tourist in different destinations in Tanzania and sharing his beautiful country and in depth wildlife knowledge to all the tourist and fellow guides that were in his presence.

After many calls by tourists that he should share his knowledge with his fellow countrymen, he answered that call by establishing a tour guide school that after 26 yrs has helped thousand of individuals learn, understand and succeed in the tourism industry.  The school has been training individuals across the African continent and making an impact to the impoverished by providing guiding skills for the betterment of youth and community at large.

KPAP(Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project)

At TJT we understand the value of a team during all our journeys. We value the contribution of each and every member of our staff and make sure they are all well taken care of.  Our founder started off as a porter 23 years ago and understands the work and dedication that the porters and whole team bring to make a successful climb for every climber.

TJT is a proud partner of Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP). Our mountain team are all given recommended wages, three meals a day and are put in good tents,  They carry luggage weight according to the mountain authority recommendation.  KPAP raises awareness on proper treatment of porter on Kilimanjaro and will assist climbing companies to adhere to proper procedures that will ensure proper treatment of porters. KPAP lends its members climbing gears for free and offers educational classes to ensure porters understand their rights and to motivate them to see it as a decent occupation where they can make a living and become more and even mountain guides in the future.

KPAP monitors every trip by including one member of their team to ensure that porters’ welfare are being met and add value to ethics and transparency towards treatment of mountain crews.

We are proud to be part of this initiative and continue to be a strong supporter of fair treatment of all our mountain crews.
